Hi guys! About a year ago, I did a blog post titled “Love The Skin You’re In”, where I gave advice on how to take care of your skin. I have gotten a few messages about my skin, and the things that I do to make my skin look healthy. I think another post on skin is warranted, however this time I will share what I do on a daily basis to maintain healthy, glowing skin.
Your skin is the first thing people see when they look at you. It can bring you great confidence, or great insecurity. A pimple here and there is quite common, and depending on your hormonal state can vary from time. This even happens with men. Here is a quick overview of some of the major things that promote unhealthy skin: Excessive amounts of sun, poor diet, frequent alcohol consumption, dehydration, and stress. One thing you should be mindful of is how often you are touching your face? Also ladies, bangs will regularly cause forehead breakouts. The product from your hair, can seep into the pores on your face, and can cause issues for some. You have to be cognizant of what you are putting in, and on your body, and face.
Now, let me tell you what I do to try to maintain youthful, healthy, glowing skin. First, I’ve identified my skin type. This is important for everyone, so that you are able to buy the correct products. There are 4 different skin types; Oily, dry, combination, and normal. Which one are you? I have combination, so my products are selected to have the greatest benefit to my skin type. Secondly, I have a CONSISTENT skin care routine. I do the same thing every week. Morning I wash, tone, and use a SPF protectant moisturizer. At night I wash, tone, and moisturize. Once a week, I exfoliate. It’s easiest and best to keep your routine basic. Clean, moisturize, tone, and protect. Once a week, you want to exfoliate. Simple right? Indeed it is, but where it gets complicated is when you break the routine and forget to wash your face, or fall asleep with your makeup on. When that happens just pickup where you left off. The brands I use are Origins Checks and Balances line. My skin is not perfect, but its healthy, and I believe if you follow these simple rules, yours will be too….. if it already isn’t
